The object of the Association is to improve the quality of life for young people resident in Dorset. This is achieved by offering a programme of informal education which promotes personal and social development and enables children and young people to reach their full potential and to become valued members of society.
· To bring together people who are willing to further the object of the Association and to provide a voice for the voluntary sector and the youth projects who are affiliated to the Association. This will be undertaken at county and national level
· To work in partnership with national and local statutory and non-statutory bodies
· To assist the work of existing youth groups and to help in the formation and development of new youth groups
· To participate in organising conferences and training courses for youth workers, young people and others interested in the welfare of young people
· To develop and encourage participation and the empowerment of young people at all levels of the Association's work
· To raise funds for the furtherance of the object of the Association
· To provide targeted youth work projects designed to meet the needs of
· young people, including those who are identified as being socially disadvantaged or are at risk of being socially disadvantaged.
