VCS Support: Introduction

In 2007 Funding from the Children's Workforce Development Council enabled DYA to play a lead role in providing support for 3rd Sector organisations in Dorset working with or for Children, Young People and their Families.  DYA is here to support the development of the Children's Workforce Agenda by encouraging the continued development of those who work with and plan services for children and young people.

The role also includes:

  • Undertaking a review of the meetings that take place in the 3rd Sector
  • Restructuring the meetings schedule
  • Planning and running the 0-19 3rd Sector Forum meeting bi-monthly
  • Arranging 3rd Sector Representation at key strategic meetings, including Children's Trust Boards and sub-groups
  • Develop an e-mail communication system supporting over 230 children & young people's organisations
  • Provide a weekly update of relevant information about opportunities for training, development, funding and resources
  • Specialist support for training and workforce development

 We also offer:

  • Group and one-to-one training and support to any 3rd Sector organisations who is interesting in competing for commissioned contracts
  • Support in preparing to bid for tenders
  • Brokerage service between 3rd Sector organisations looking for partners to work with for future tenders
  • Information alerts specifically about forthcoming tender opportunities
  • Information about the 'Aiming High for Children with Disabilities' funding
  • Support in attracting and tendering for 'Aiming High for Children with Disabilities' funding
