Short Film Competition Launches!

At the end of April, Dorset Youth Association launched their short film competition. Each week, we'll announce a new theme for your short film on a Wednesday. You'll have until Sunday to get a film of no more than 3 minutes together and submitted to [email protected]. We recommend uploading to a cloud based storage facility like GoogleDrive, OneDrive or similar and emailing us the link to it, in case the files are too big to email across directly.

Who is it for?

Anyone who is aged 7 - 25 years old living in the Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas. If you're under the age of 10, you can have input from an adult in making your film if you would like.

What do we need to do?

Be creative! Take the theme and make something that is important to you, showing your view and experience of lockdown as a young person. You can use music, stop motion, animation... the only limit is your imagination. Once you've got your film together, you'll need to email it to: [email protected] with your name, age, Town/location and a name and contact number of a parent or guardian if you're under 18.

Is there anything we can't do?

The only thing we ask for is no swearing, illegal activity or harmful behaviour to be in your films please.

What can I win?

Each week there will be a new winner who will win a £10 Amazon e-voucher. If you win one week, you won't be able to win again for another 3 weeks, though you can still enter and gain commendations/judges awards!

How long will the competition run for?

At the moment we're taking each week as it comes, we envisage at least 3 weeks of the competition but this is subject to change. You can find all the latest information here or on our social media channels which are linked at the top of every webpage.
