Smart Cookies was a Dorchester based community enterprise working with local young people and it was supported by Dorset Youth Association’s (DYA) and a part time project worker. It supported a range of young people including those with additional need and used baking as a way to develop new skills, make new friends and to seize opportunities.

During the project the group set up a pop up café at out AIG Centre Routes and catered for special events such as a party at the Dorset County Museum for 120 people.

Members of the group used their skills to start their cake baking enterprise, to volunteer at Oxfam and to start College.

Smart Cookies supported other DYA projects such as the ‘Walking in Their Shoes’ project.

Created their own cook book, and the funds raised went to help our AIG Centre.

They also catered for HRH The Duke of Wessex KC GCVO at Dorset Youth Association’s 70th Anniversary.
