We have an exciting full time opportunity to join us as a Youth Development Manager. You will provide high levels of support to voluntary organisations, charities, community clubs and groups that provide provision for young people, by working in partnership with statutory organisations and the voluntary sector, to deliver and expand the range of services available throughout Dorset.

This involves:

  • Manage and grow a youth work team of staff and volunteers in multiple locations
  • Design, plan and manage new and existing initiatives, projects, celebration events and services
  • Development of a professional, supportive and positive working relationships with young people, volunteers, partners, staff and trustees
  • Support the wellbeing of young people, staff, volunteers and partner organisations
  • Consultation with young people, organisations, volunteers, staff and communities through the VoiceX initiative
  • Provide initial support to help establish new youth provision
  • Supporting existing youth providers to thrive, provide a safe place for young people and be sustainable
  • Offer emergency cover, one off activities or a series of activities
  • Promoting the participation and involvement of young people in youth projects
  • Ensuring equality of opportunity for young people in all projects and providing support as required
  • Ensuring high quality training appropriate for youth settings is available
  • Deliver training appropriate for youth work settings
  • Working to ensure all young people are safeguarded and that all, young people and adults have advice and training on safeguarding
  • Processing of Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly CRB) checks
  • Provide quality and valuable information/data/reports for the voluntary sector
  • Liaise with statutory partners e.g. Local Authorities & NHS to provide feedback to the voluntary sector
  • Marketing and promoting youth provision and the work of DYA
  • Fundraising and bid writing

Employment type: Full Time, Permanent – subject to continued funding

Hours of work: 37 Hours Per Week

Salary: up to £26,460 per annum depending upon qualifications
